My daughter-in-law Tina Hill was admitted to the hospital last night with a blood clot in her leg. She has been nursing a very sore foot injury for several weeks and had not been able to walk on it after she ran the marathon in Chicago. Please pray for the doctors, Tina’s comfort and healing. Also pray for my son, Doug and their two little girls. I know this will be hard for them for Tina to be in the hospital several days. Thank you. Sherry Ray

Travis, one of the Directors for World Mission Builders, has been put into the hospital in the Philippines. When dad got to the job site, he did not like how Travis looked and insisted he went to the hospital. They are not sure what the issue is. He is very dehydrated. They are hoping there is no infection as he had gallbladder surgery recently. He is in a small town hospital, not in one of the major cities. They are very concerned for him. Please pray for his recovery and safe return home.

Update from Tina Hill (Post-Marathon)

We Praise the Lord with Tina that she finished the race!! She had a wonderful time meeting so many people, and you helped her raise over $1100 for clean water in Africa!!! Please continue to pray for her healing tho. Her muscles are sore, and her right foot is swollen just below the ankle. She can barely put any pressure on it. She's going back in for an MRI tomorrow evening, which might give a better picture than the X-rays did. Thank you for your prayers for her!! :)))

Update on Tina Hill

I wanted to give an update on my daughter-in-law Tina Hill, who was running in the Chicago Marathon today with the team from World Vision. I spoke with Tina briefly after the race and shared with her about the people in Katy that were praying for her. She wanted me to thank everyone, it was all the prayers that got her to the finish line. Tina told me that at about the 15 mile mark she wanted to quit because her foot hurt so bad, but she decided to see if she could run through the pain. She said that knowing how many people were praying for her really encouraged her to continue the race. At about two miles she said every toe was cramping, but she would not give up. She finished the race a few minutes ahead of the pace! God is amazing - not only did she finish, she did it in a good time. Thanks to everyone who prayed and thought of Tina today.

Tina Hill is my daughter-in-law that many of the ladies met at the ladies retreat this year. She had just begun training for the Chicago marathon. Tina had never run a marathon before but when the opportunity to join Word Vision team came up, she felt God leading her to take the challenge. World Vision is a Christian humanitarian organization (see www.firstgiving.com/tinahill ) She hurt her foot a couple of weeks ago and will be running with pain. Please pray that Tina will have a safe race, that God will be glorified as Tina and Team World Vision run for God and the families that will be benefiting from the donations the team has raised. The marathon is on Sunday and begins in the morning, so it would be great if this pray request could be shared with the church so that she has prayers throughout the day. Thank you.

Thank you for your prayers!! Myrna & Sonia's mother is improving! According to the doctors, she wasn't even suppose to survive one surgery...but she has survived two!! Deborah Kolber's Aunt...& an Uncle

Please pray for Deborah Kolber's Uncle Bob who will be going in for cancer surgery on Monday/tomorrow at 10:30am at MD Anderson. Pray that they will go in and find that there is no sign of cancer and that he is healed.
Pray also for Deborah's Aunt Dot as she goes in for tests on Wednesday to check the cyst on her ovary and to check her gallbladder. Pray for good results!

Update on Amanda Atchley

The easiest way to explain it: Amanda parked her car in a friend's driveway. She was getting into the friend's car, was 1/2 way in, when Amanda's car started rolling back and basically pinned her in the door. She has a broken arm, a cut on the back of her hand from the glass and some scratches on her legs. They set the arm and did x-rays after being set...it didn't look like anything had been done! Jim, Michele, Amanda, the doctor and I felt it would be good for her to go ahead and do surgery. She went into surgery about 9:45pm last night and was out by about 10:30- 10:45. If she is managing her pain well today, she will go home.
I'm so thankful that it was just her arm....if you think about it, she could have had 1/2 her body pinned in the door with a car squishing her! She will go back in about 6-8 days for a follow up and will probably be in a cast or a brace for 6-8 weeks.
If you would Thank God that it wasn't any worse, pray for her recovery to go well and for all the insurance and medical bills to be covered.
