Alyssa Sager (my 2nd cousin by marriage) has come out of surgery just fine. It will take 2 weeks for the doctors to get all the test results back tho. Please keep her in your prayers for a quick recovery & God's Healing touch!! Thank you! Kim Z. :)
Hello Again,
Again, thank you all soooooo much for your prayers and well wishes for Alyssa! Here is the report from yesterdays adventure. Alyssa went into surgery at about 9:30am. She was very scared before that, embarrassed that her scratched up legs were showing, and cried in my arms. She took comfort in knowing that so many people were praying for her, that God was with her, and angels were surrounding her.
The surgery was quick -- finished in a little over a half hour. Her doctor is wonderful and made her laugh, which was nice to see. We thought that it was just one large lymphnode, however, it was a cluster of enlarged lymphnodes. (about 3 of them) He only removed one that was about the size of a walnut, and I begged them to test it for every infection under the sun. He said he spoke with the pathologist about that. They did not remove the others because the lymph system is part of her immune system, and they did not want to compromise her immune system. Plus, what ever they find out, would not be surgical again, it would be whatever treatment is needed which would reduce the size of the remaining lymphnodes. Another reason that they did not remove the others is that they could be tangled up with blood vessels, etc..., and it might be too dangerous and harmful to her. Her recovery at this point has been great! She has eaten well, and sleeps most of the time. She has not wanted, nor at this time, needed any pain medication.
As far as the results of the biopsy goes, we will not know anything about what the find for almost two weeks. And some infection cultures take up to two months to grow. Therefore, we just need to wait and pray for the answer to her illness. Again, we just cannot thank you enough for your prayers!! Please, if you would, keep praying that the doctors can find out what is wrong with our angel girl, and that she will be able to recover from whatever it is soon. She has struggled with this for sooooooo long. Thank you all again, and God Bless You! Love, Rose :)
Alyssa Sager, 14, has been diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma (cancer of the lymph nodes). It is our prayer that God would heal her totally from this disease, and that in the process she would gain a deeper understanding of God's love for her and bring glory to Him. Also pray for Alyssa's parents, Curtis and Rose...that they would sense Jesus' presence and that their faith would be deepened through this situation. Pray for the grandparents too on both sides please! Thanking God in advance for these prayers!
In Him,
Love,
Kim Z.

Alyssa will be having more tests to determine if the cancer is localized. Then it'll be chemo. Two things that are good: her age and catching it early. There is a 90-95% recovery rate for these, so pray that it IS localized and early stage. Curtis and Rose (the parents of Alyssa) are exhausted. They have had a rough year (dealing with problems with their middle child/son). We covet your prayers & that of your prayer chain.
The Hodgkin's is in the swollen lymph nodes under her arm, other lymph nodes in her chest area, and has invaded her spleen. She also has some kind of cyst on her thyroid gland and some cysts on one of her kidneys. (She had an ultrasound on those today for further evaluation.) Alyssa is classified as being stage four. Altho, this doesn't sound good, the doctor is hopeful! Praise the Lord, we have our Hope in the Great Physician, Jesus Christ Our Lord!! So please keep lifting up Alyssa, her parents & grandparents! Thank you so much!!!
In Him, Love, Kim Z.
